First (only) visit: September 2009
Visited: Lampedusa Island
Unknown, remote, dry and very exotic in its way, Lampedusa is the southernmost point of Italy, almost half the way to Libya and the place all those illegal immigrants want to land in. Quite touristy but only known by Italians, this is actually very typical of the country and almost culturally untouched, which is fantastic. Truly a place for the person who has been everywhere already.
Highlight: The rugged landscapes in the middle of the Mediterranean.
