France - Corsica

First (only) visit (Corsica only): July 2008 Visited: Bonifaccio Corsica has an Italian influence to it, plus rugged mountains crashing into the sea, plus the benefit of a clear French touch, so there is a lot of added value here and I can see the charm. Bonifaccio, at the southern end, has a magnificent location, especially evident when you arrive on the ferry from Sardinia. The old town here oozes with buildings with loads of character, shopping opportunities, nice French cuisine and great sea views. Highlight: The view of Bonifaccio coming from the sea. Rank (France as a whole): 11/217.
