Harry's Trails Around The World

Harry Travels World

Ethiopia

First visit: March 2007 Subsequent visit: February 2013 Visited: Addis Ababa, Harar, Dire Dawa, Debre Berhan, Zayle Lake. What an interesting and unusual culture. The fact that they are Orthodox and yet their saints are black is a curio value to all I suppose, and this country, however poor, is certainly worth exploring! Addis is an interesting capital, almost European in some parts, but venture further along and this is most certainly Africa, possibly at its best. Harar was truly exceptionally interesting, retaining a way of life from an era long gone. Highlight: Just looking at the local people's way of life on the route from Addis to Harar. Rank: 20/217.
