I know mainland France shamfully badly, even though I have been to Paris loads of times and always love its many faces, even its seedy sides which make you feel you aren't in Europe. Europeans tend to slag France off but it is one of my favourite countries, though the Cote d'Azur was not everything I had hoped. Clearly obvious why it is the most visited country in the world, from good food to magnificent history, and the people are really not as bad as they are made out to be.
Highlight: Foie gras at a Parisian restaurant. Unbeatable taste and atmosphere.
