Visited: Sydney, Perth, Adelaide, Canberra, Manly, Darwin, Lichfield National Park, Brisbane, Melbourne, Hobart (Tasmania).
A continent to itself, and really far away...I get the feeling Australia doesn't really know what it wants to be - its British heritage is clear but its cities look more American really, though the people seem more relaxed here. And occasionally xenophobic and rude. Sydney is wonderful in every way, perhaps the nicest city in the world. Tasmania is also a dream of a place. Go to Darwin though, and you will see hell on earth incarnated. Australia is clearly a place for nature lovers rather than a cultural hub, but all in all, their tourist promotion and offering is extremely attractive.
Highlight: A tough one; I will say Hobart for the sheer British-ness of the atmosphere.
