First visit (Quebec): July 2009
Subsequent visit: Re-entry July 2009
Visited: Montreal, Quebec City, Ile d'Orleans, St. Georges.
Quebec is rather odd within Canada itself, and its truly French-ish character seems out of place for a while, until you become used to it. This is really almost as if you are in Europe at parts, until the malls and the consumerism culture hit you. Montreal is a pleasant town with a nice location and clearly Quebec City is the cultural darling of the province.
Highlight: Definately the Ile d'Orleans, on the St. Lawrence river almost opposite Quebec City, which seems like an eco-tourist's true bliss.
Rank (Canada) : 4/217.
