Visited: Antananarivo, Ambohimanga
I could have shot myself for staying in this place so little and this is one of the musts for a long stay. This is Africa but with people who look more Indonesian, the capital is a smoked-filled paradise of contrasts and somehow everything here is unique and a mix of worlds. I loved it without quite being able to say why.
Highlight: The vast amount of beautiful artisan stuff at Ambohimanga, for which it is worth spending all your budget.
