Visited: Cotonou, Ganvie.
Interesting Benin, with its tradition of voodoo, is one of the better places in West Africa, and Cotonou is quite a buzzing place if you can endure the fumes. The market here is furiously buzzing. Ganvie, not far away, is a must for any tourist here and really quite charming. Take cash along because the souvenirs are irresistable here, as are the many canoes merrily floating by.
Highlight: Ganvie, the Venice of Africa.
