Harry's Trails Around The World

Harry Travels World

Belarus

First (only) visit: June/July 2001 Visited: Minsk What a shame I didn't take my camera. Had I known it was the 10-year anniversary of independence, I surely would have. The parade was second to none. Minsk is actually rather pretty, especially in good weather when the locals are out in parks or pedal boatting down the canals. Pity the place is politically so isolated that it will never be a tourist centre. Highlight: The canals where people go for pedalo rides; and the independence parade, an amazing communist-like exhibition.
