Visited: Goma
I was rather terrified visiting this lawless place and I entered from Rwanda in the east for all of one hour on a motorcycle to see the ruined town of Goma, which was swallowed by the lava of the nearby volcano. This is Africa at its most rugged and messed up, in a volatile country without any laws that can protect you. Still, a place I would love to return to...
Highlight: Street scenes (children, outdoor furniture parlour, hair salons) upon the lava in Goma.
